Fund the Floor
Greene Center volunteers are kicking off 2022 with a huge improvement project! We hope to replace the old, brittle tile floor in the gymnasium with a new multipurpose floor to ensure that our gym will continue to meet the many and varied needs of our community. For the initial 50 years or so the current floor served Kenna Elementary School and now is one of the most used sections of the Greene Center. While the gym has been used for dance exercise, pickle ball, corn hole tournaments, church activities, family gatherings and many fund raising and community outreach events sponsored by the Greene Center, its most intense use began when it served as a home for the Ripley Youth Basketball program this past fall and winter with 21 teams and more than 200 children participating. We realize that this is a BIG project, but we are confident that we will reach the needed $50,000 goal to make it happen with a percentage of generated Greene Center funds earmarked for the project, fundraising activities specifically for the flooring project, grants, and support and help from our community. Watch for information about the project on the Greene Center Facebook page with updates along the way. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Donations can also be mailed to Greene Center, P O Box 72, Kenna, WV 25248.
